PRESS RELEASE

Luxembourg, 21 November 2022 – This year, the European Finance Summit makes its great return in-person. This new edition will take place on 1 December at the European Convention Center Luxembourg. This year, Farvest will also take a stand for a good cause: Iles de Paix, funded by Nobel Peace prize-winner Dominique Pire in 1965. During the networking lunch, attendees will take part in a silent auction featuring unique art pieces and a crafted jewel. The amount raised will be unveiled during the Awards’ Ceremony and will entirely be donated to Iles de Paix.

Inspiring conferences

Bracing for impact

The pandemic, and the crying need for global cooperation and sustainable solutions definitely turned the tide – going green is no longer an option. Many investors wonder how they can diversify their portfolio and produce long-term benefits for society while still generating profits.

Key local players such as Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), European Financial Planner Association (EFPA) Luxembourg, LuxFLAG, Expon Capital, Société Générale Private Wealth Management (SGPWM) and Moniflo will pick up on this question and further explain how to promote sustainable finance in Luxembourg, from both a business growth and a customer trust perspective.

Automating finance

Like all new concepts, it may be challenging to get a grip on what finance automation means. What is the impact of Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Web 3.0 and digital assets on CFOs’ role and more broadly, on business growth?

A tricky yet essential question for the future of our economy experts from Finologee, KPMG, Indosuez Wealth (Europe), the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), France Meta, and renowned journals like Le Nouvel Economiste and Le Figaro will answer – according to their respective backgrounds.

Talking about automation, Mandalore Partners Co-Founder and Managing Partner Minh Q. Tran will deliver a long-awaited keynote speech on the ever-growing field of Web3 and how Luxembourg could well leverage its initiatives worldwide.

Navigating the regulatory challenges

As more financial-services activity moves from regulated banks to platforms with little or no oversight, so do the associated risks – which requires specific supervisory and regulatory action, including better consumer and investor protection. So, how to stay up to date in this constantly evolving world and play your cards right?

This is where international institutions and key players like the European Investment Bank (EIB), UBS, Proximus Luxembourg, Bitstamp, and SCHILTZ & SCHILTZ come into play. They will further explain how to deal with AML and KYC, for fighting financial crime, reducing costs and spur employees’ performance.

Talents and upskilling: what’s next for the financial sector?

If employers have struggled to find new talent since the onset of the Big Quit, it will be even more challenging in finance in the coming years considering it is one of the sectors that has changed the most dramatically – with ESG regulations, new players jumping in, such as Fin & RegTechs, cryptocurrencies, etc.

Sound experts and the leading Business School L22 will join on stage to share their experience on how to prepare employees and the future generation to these upcoming challenges, to drive better business outcomes and define the jobs that will come in the next months/years.

A special guest will also be joining this outstanding programme to talk about “the courageous finance leader”. Indeed, Peter McKenzie is a speaker, executive coach, and CFO whose mission is to help people achieve their full potential by making the workplace a safe place to learn, grow and enjoy. For over 25 years he has worked as a C-Suite leader in the finance, banking, and real estate industries across Europe. He is currently Chief Financial Officer of Anticipa Real Estate, which is owned by Blackstone, one of the world’s largest investment funds with $545 billion under management. His speech is worth sharing.
