
Fernando Valenzuela
Chief Financial Officer, RBC Investor Services Bank
Fernando Valenzuela is the Chief Financial Officer and a Member of the Executive Committee of RBC Investor Services Bank S.A. (“RBC I&TS”), a Significant Financial Institution and custodian bank with presence in 10 geographies across Europe and Asia.
In his current role and beyond its responsibilities as CFO and Authorized Manager since 2017, he has been in charge of driving and successfully delivering a multi-year transformation strategy of his function, repositioning it from its historical operator and steward roles, into a strategist and business partner function. These efforts already enabled the team to receive the “Finance Team of the Year” award, at the European Finance Summit 2018 edition.
Having served on various Boards and Committees, and having recently completed the International Directors Program (IDP) at INSEAD, Fernando strongly believes in the importance of good corporate governance to drive sustainable finance.
Fernando started his career at GE, completing the Financial Management Programme (FMP) and holding various roles of increasing responsibility at GE’s Corporate Audit and GE Capital, including Deputy CFO of universal and publicly traded Bank BPH, in Warsaw. Prior to joining RBC, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Committee of the joint venture Mubadala GE Capital, based in Abu Dhabi.
Fernando holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Montreal, and speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
