Tonika Hirdman

Director General, Fondation de Luxembourg

Tonika Hirdman is the Director General of Fondation de Luxembourg, a public utility organization created by the Luxembourg government.

Previously she was the CEO of ABN AMRO Bank (Luxembourg) S.A. Before coming to Luxembourg, she was the Managing Director of Banco, a subsidiary of ABN AMRO in Sweden. At the same time she was responsible for the sustainable investment strategy at ABN AMRO Asset Management.

Tonika Hirdman is a member of the Board of AP7, the Swedish public pension fund. In the past she has also been a member of the Boards of Transparency International Sweden, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish Investment Funds Association and of ABN AMRO Life S.A.
Tonika Hirdman began her professional career at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority in 1990. In 1994 she became a diplomat at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she worked for six years. Tonika Hirdman holds a Master of Science degree from Uppsala University.

The Fondation de Luxembourg is an umbrella foundation and independent center of expertise in the field of philanthropy. The Foundation assists European donors in the structuring, management and monitoring of their charitable foundations active in Europe and worldwide. Created by the State of Luxembourg and the Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte the Fondation de Luxembourg's mission is to promote and facilitate private philanthropic engagement.
